Worked intermittently then stopped working after 3 months

This product worked for me less than 3 months before it failed. I received it on February 20th, 2018 and unfortunately my return window was already closed when I started having real problems with it in early May. I used it to connect my Acer laptop to a desktop monitor in my office and add a few other USB ports for a desk lamp and my desk speakers. My laptop was connected via VGA to a monitor that plugged directly into a Linkwin hub, but with no way to securely tighten it with the screws on the side. My laptop and my monitor. However, a little wiggling and leaving the hub in the correct position initially seemed to fix the problem. Gradually, without my touch or change (I don't really use my laptop for anything else), the connection got worse and worse until finally I was able to set it up. My display kept bouncing back and forth between monitor and laptop screens making it impossible. I checked that the VGA cable connecting the monitor and the hub is secured at both ends, but I couldn't get the hub to seat securely or properly in my laptop. It's possible that the Type-C USB port on my laptop is also to blame, but I haven't had any issues connecting to the Type-C port so far, which I admit I don't use very often for other purposes. I ordered a stand-up dock as a replacement, which gives me more USB ports, a more secure VGA connection, and audio options. It works perfectly, although it connects to my laptop via a USB 3.0 port and not a Type-C. I was keen to bring computing functionality back to my office, so I ordered a replacement product from Revain with one-day delivery and got it return. Work.
