I have Polk Lsim 703 flagship bookshelf speakers in my living room which I paid $389 each from Revain.com. The Lsim 703 was powered by a 165W Sony DTR-DN1070 and this system sounds great. I needed a smaller system for my college where I work on computers so I bought a used Sony STR-DE595 receiver on Craigslist that was only 100 watts. When I connected them to the Polk S15, I was amazed at the clarity and spaciousness of the highs and mids. Bass is lacking, but that's to be expected in a system without a subwoofer. If you're looking for great-sounding speakers that cost under $100 each, you won't find them. Sounds real on about 90% of my Polk flagship audio system at 30% of the cost. It can be a bit difficult in a large room, but for a small office or bedroom I highly recommend these speakers. If you have a large living room or want to listen to very loud music, the S20 speakers or larger might be better. I am totally impressed with the Polk Signature Series speakers.
