Haven't driven this device yet, but plugged it in and tested it in the car, picture quality is very good. Component quality is also very good, and I particularly appreciate the included lens hood and image reversal options. We have yet to drive out into the real world at speed and night with our trailer behind us to evaluate the speed at speed and effectiveness of the four nighttime UV lights. I'll update this when it happens. If I were a more discerning buyer I would a) choose one of the kits that includes a camera with more than four UV lights and b) I don't really need a license plate camera as my Explorer has a camera to go back with directly to the trailer hitch of my trailer without an observer. The image quality of the licensed camera is at least as good as that of the rear camera, which is very impressive. I installed it in my trailer and looked out the rear window. Even though I'm looking through a window pane, the image is great for my purpose of knowing when there are cars behind me or to help with backups. Adjustable, detachable parking lines are a great feature.
