I've owned this 6.5" unamplified surround sound subwoofer for almost 15 years now. I hooked it up to the regular speaker outputs on my old Sony receiver for years and it sounded good. There were still plenty of unamplified hits. Recently my old Sony receiver died and due to lack of money I had to replace it with a Pyle(of ****) receiver. Pyle significantly reduced the power of the subwoofer with the normal speaker outputs, so I settled on the new 6.5A subwoofer I found at Revain. This new subwoofer enclosure was slightly smaller than my old 6.5. The boom was ok, but it just couldn't reach the low frequencies that my old subwoofer could. I decided to try one of these amps on my old subwoofer and amps. I wasn't expecting much, but my goodness, this little amp really does make an old-school subwoofer sound. Don't expect picture quality to skyrocket at this price point, but it does a great job with this little subwoofer and delivers clean bass. The hope endures. Highly recommended.
