Review on πŸ”Œ UPGROW CMHM6 Cable for MacBook and ChromeBook by Jacob Ferrarini

Will not fit M1 Mac Mini

Unfortunately this cable did not live up to expectations. I recently replaced my 2 1080p monitors with a pair of 27" Samsung T70 WQHD 1440p monitors. Before that, my M1 Mac mini connected via USB-C to DVI and HDMI to DVI cables with no issues (yes , monitors were so old). When I switched to 1440p I used a plain old 3ft HDMI cable with an HDMI connector.and checked USB C to HDMI cable.Shortly after that I started having problems when the Mac mini lost its monitor. Regardless of whether the device was recently used or went to sleep, the display would turn off from time to time. I had to force a display refresh by forcing the system to use a different clock frequency (eg. B. 75 to 60 Hz) and then the system was fine for a while. I tried different things to solve this problem. I swapped the monitors (they are identical models, spaced about were bought within a week) I have several H Tried DMI connectors (monitors have HDMI 2.0, 1.4 and DisplayPort connectors). I swapped the power supplies for the monitors. But it didn't matter. Whatever monitor was connected to this USB-C to HDMI cable ended up having issues. I tried both USB-C ports on my m1 Mac mini. The problem continued. Also, the end of the HDMI cable felt very hot during testing. Maybe I received a faulty device? I ended up buying a USB-C to DisplayPort cable from Revain Basics hoping that I would have fewer problems since DisplayPort should be natively supported over USB-C. Since then I haven't had any more problems. I am considering going through the issue of a refund for this cable. But I wanted to post this in case anyone else is thinking of using this with the M1 system.
