These worked really great at first and my dogs took a while to eat their food. But after a while, they kind of figured out their own tricks so they're able to eat a bit faster. It still slows them down though. My chihuahua mix usually takes less than 3 minutes to finish his food, but now it takes him about 5-7 minutes. My malterse/yorkie mix puppy would take even less and finish her food in 2-3 minutes, but now it takes her 10-15 minutes. That's probably because she's still very small, but she is getting faster. The first time, she took almost 30 minutes to finish her food.
