If you want to be more specific, you're going into rectal territory, my friend. It's important to note that you're setting a normal baseline. If your temperature is usually 98.0 when you wake up every morning, you know something is wrong when your temperature is 98.9. You won't doubt your thermometer, and you won't doubt what your rate might be.
