Great idea - just needs improvement
We have this for our bassinet. We ended up buying another noise machine because this whale machine drains the batteries for a week and also doesn't have the ability to play constantly. For a newborn (or at least ours) a noise machine is essential to calm us down. Worrying about when it has to turn itself off and get back up to press the button made us even more tired. However, the heartbeat sound is top-notch (our other noise machine's heartbeat sound is a bit harsh). So as far as this goes, I wouldn't recommend it unless you plan to get up often to turn it on.
