My son is in Texas now and my wife has become a fan of all of Texas because of it. So I got her this waffle maker for her birthday. I am hero! The design seems a little flimsy for this unit, but there aren't many options for a Texas-style waffle maker. Be sure to lubricate it with oil before first use. This isn't a criticism, just good advice for any new waffle maker (it's also in the instructions for those of you who haven't read the instructions). The waffle maker heats up quickly and can bake waffles fast enough to keep 4 or 5 people going. I'm just glad he's in Texas. I'm not sure a Rhode Island waffle maker will satisfy my appetite.
