I had Intel from 80386 (386) to 6700k Skylake, AMD Athlon 64, Ryzen 1700 and now I just upgraded to 3900x. What an amazing processor, with an incredible jump in IPC performance, even Adobe Lightroom is faster, Lightroom (!), you know how hard it is to move that glacier. I've heard some complaints that there isn't enough room to overclock. . I've overclocked every processor in the past simply because they left so much performance on the table. This processor seems to be doing a great job squeezing every ounce of performance out of it, so I don't think it's worth overclocking for a minute. Its performance is monstrous right from the start, I think the early MB manufacturers BIOS uses a little too much voltage at default settings. I tried setting it to 1.3V but it severely slowed down performance. I chose to leave it in automatic mode with an offset of -0.1125 and see no performance loss (Cinebench).
