Great that you don't have to download and drink iodine tablets! I no longer have to cook for 10 minutes and let it cool forever! This device really saves time and is easy to use. Just shake it in water collected from any stream, river or lake and in less than a minute you will have sterilized water. I had no trouble putting the batteries in and closing it. The explanation in the instructions regarding lights etc was clear. Haven't used it long enough to see if it wears out on me in advance, but so far so good. The pre-filter is a great idea and I'm glad it came with this one. The only downside is the fact that it only fits a Nalgene sized water bottle and doesn't have adapters for slightly different sized bottles. (I have a much smaller screw-top Stanley flask.) But if you have a wider-necked Nalji and you run into a mud-filled puddle of water, this pre-filter will keep fallen leaves and stuck particles from getting into your water prematurely and sterilize it. I think it's a great idea and a plus to include in this pack. What are you waiting for (as many other people say)! Just get one!
