Review on 🐱 FELIWAY Classic Cat Calming Pheromone Diffuser Starter Kit - 30 Day Relief (48mL) by Sarah Dionne

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Noticeably effective

Short version: BENEFITS – VERY effective in reducing stress and unwanted behaviors. - Price. VERY expensive if you use the recommended number of diffusers in a household and then have to change them before the recommended effective date. Long version: I have seven cats that have free access to a large fenced yard and limited access to several hundred acres. Outside of the fenced yard, you spend most of your time indoors. There are conflicting personalities between the two, adding to the added stress of obsessive tramps. Due to the high level of stress in the premises, spraying began, leading to an increase in aggressive and inappropriate behavior. I use 3 Feliway diffusers, one at each end of the house and one in the basement. It literally saved their lives and my sanity. Diffusers don't last a full 30 days on me, usually around 25 days. I can tell when they stop being effective when bad behavior escalates. It's not instant. It takes me about 3 days to figure out why spatter and splatter was noticeable when I check the diffusers (the approximate replacement date is on the refill bottle), it's close to the replacement date. Within a day of replacing the staffs, the situation calmed down again. I have also found the spray to be VERY effective at preventing marking/spraying when applied to preferred targets every 2-3 days. When applied to a pair of leather gloves that I use to 'pet' wild stray animals, it is extremely effective at calming them down and reducing the 'bumps/bites' of the gloves. It never ceases to amaze me to see these wild animals. Cats will calm down enough not only to let me pet them, but to relax enough to roll onto their backs so I can rub their tummy. cats and strays. And I really mean it when I say it saves lives. About 6 months after I moved to my new home in the country, an intact stray male (who I had neutered and named Melvin) decided to make himself at home with my four other cats (three females and one male, all switched ). As an adult (around 2+ years old) this initially caused some tension with my other cats, but eventually we all settled into a fairly stable routine. However, I had to constantly work with Melvin to reduce his aggression throughout the game. Two years later my best friend was in a serious car accident and although she survived she was unable to take care of her three cats, so I adopted her. Although it took me 2 months to slowly integrate them, they created tension between my 5, especially Melvin. Over the next year, Melvin's stress levels rose to the point of distraction, aggression, and general depression. I tried several medications (my sister is a vet) but to no avail. His spraying became uncontrollable to the point where he intentionally sprayed objects near me and eventually on me. Although he never got rid of all his wrong ways, it was like something clicked in his brain that while he wasn't evil, he was just wrong and definitely not happy. After all other solutions (including Feliway Spray) had been exhausted, I put him to sleep. Less than a week after Melvin's heartbreaking euthanasia, one of my males (from my original quad) began spraying around the house, as did one of my friend's three males. Drugs didn't help any of them. As a last resort, I started using Feliway diffusers and sprayed daily on any items that needed spraying. lost), the situation remains under control. And while I still burn for Melvin, every day I breathe a sigh of relief that I no longer have to make that decision. Well, the Feliway diffusers and sprays are expensive, but definitely worth the money and a real find for my seven fur babies.
