A "black box " device with a questionable lifespan.

When I read reviews about this device I was quite skeptical. It seems to me that this device is more than a copy of the Raspberry Pi with solder connections for USB, SD, dual AV and HDMI. The connections themselves are a bit finicky; It took me a few tries to realize that the HDMI port is deeper than it looks. The power connector also seems a little flat, and I decided to leave the end of the cable only partially open for fear of accidentally damaging it with excessive force. The instructions state that the output must be selected on the remote control every time the device is switched on. . You might think that the device will automatically detect the output, but it doesn't. Navigating the interface with the remote control is easy enough, and you can set the video to play randomly or repeatedly. In terms of build quality, I have a problem here: the device gets too warm for my taste. I bought this specifically to use as a 24/7 media server, so I'm concerned that the board may burn out in the future. It's been about a week and everything seems fine so I hope I'm wrong. My advice: if you can buy a Blu-ray/DVD player with built-in USB/SD support, go for it. This is a cheap alternative, but also rather dubious.
