Review on Makita XAG20Z Paddle Cutoff Grinder by James Crofton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

good balance Great Power

Choosing my first 18 volt tool was a BIG decision as it meant I had to use tools from the same brand, since batteries of different brands are not interchangeable. After careful consideration, I chose the Makita 18 volt tool line based on my 20+ years of experience with my old Makita 9.6 volt drills and jigsaws, which are still workhorses today. My final decision was made after reading an incredible review of the Makita Oscillating MultiTool (XMT03), which is the first 18V tool in the Makita range that I have purchased (2019). Buy tools as needed after mid-2019. I chose this Makita 4-1/2”/5” (XAG20Z) Power Cutter (XAG20Z) after researching all available models on MakitaTools.com and comparing their different features. Slide (on/off) switch for convenience and SAFETY as operation requires the paddle switch to be held down while the slide switch remains on even if you drop it. Great tool, works with all standard cutting discs, brushes, sanding discs on the market etc that fit a standard 5/8" mandrel.
