Review on Superior Threads 11402 619 Bottom Polyester by Kelsey Brown

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This tan is a warm golden tan, darker than ivory and cream but much lighter than gold

The tan is second from the right between cream and gold. This is a few shades too light, so we ended up using a medium brown that's a few shades darker, and a neutral brown, shown on the left, which is also a lot lighter than the dark brown shown above. To me, this shade is warm, not a very light yellow, more of a light gold (not shiny), but not a neutral brown either. Love the 60 quilt scale as it's not very visible! I also plan on doing a background spider like quilting on dark brown, this gives some color but mostly texture. Although this is intended for a quilt chain, I wouldn't use it without a thicker weight (50 or higher) as I feel it's too thin for a single construction thread. For all my quilts, I usually use a heavier gauge thread in the needle thread and in the seams.

Pros
  • Made from polyfilament
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen
