Seems to be the culprit
Replaced the Keystone with this tricky HDMI but although it initially worked with a TV signal from the Comcast box to this the TV also started getting all through the Wall to disappear 10 seconds. Showed a black screen, then came back, then dropped out again, then came back. Tested briefly to get the Comcast wall on another TV. Seems to work, then a long cable into the wall without it straight into the concast socket. Both worked. So only the culprit remains. It's sad to say that the cable seems useful but unreliable.
