The taste is completely different. We knew our Southern California water was dirty and our Brita hadn't changed the taste at all. It honestly tastes like Dasani. The filters are expensive, but they clearly work. Even my picky husband noticed the difference. It takes some time to filter the water from the holding tank from top to bottom (obviously because it works), but it takes longer to fill the bottom since the lid is about half the size of the tank. lower. So I feel like I keep topping it up BUT it's worth it in my opinion. Update: After a few months, my rating has changed to 2 stars. The water tasted sour as the filter went bad. I understand this can be done in different ways, but the filters didn't even last two weeks. We ended up dropping this one and going back to Brita.
