I've used this display in a variety of conditions over the past 2 months - it has performed fairly well and even survived some time on and off the road while mounted in a vehicle for a range of mobile computing purposes. In my opinion so far it's delivered excellent value for money - a big step up from open bezel/display kits of this size and cutout/stripe aspect ratio, but without hitting the premium price point. Initially, the display's brightness was just too bright to preserve night vision when the display was used in a dark room (or on a dark street) - a test photo shows it being used and showing ADS-B flight telemetry when it's in use mounted is a vehicle's dashboard in the dark) after asking about it, FormulaMod quickly instructed me how to remove the back panel - underneath is a white button that toggles several levels of brightness! This button isn't mentioned in any other documentation at the time of writing, and the device ships at maximum brightness. The last used brightness setting is retained even when the device is completely turned off, making this undocumented feature even more useful for my purposes. I'm not aware of any OSD functionality, and apart from the case's RGB lighting, it's not exactly a feature. Rich Multimedia Power or anything like that doesn't pretend to be, and for my applications, the lack of that typical useless "feature creep" translates into an overall simplicity, which is another unexpected benefit. The back panel has cutouts for cable routing. Installation housing with lateral outlet. If you want your cables to come straight out the back, note that the mini-HDMI and micro-USB connectors have the beveled shorter side in; If you are looking for 90 degree adapters for any of these ports, they should "curve up" from this edge. Reading other threads, comments and reviews gives the impression that this is probably a clone of another very similar display. I have *no* personal experience with the "original" but FormulaMod support really went out of their way to support this product, which is more than enough for me. First, I made sure I described the LCD backlight. compared to RGB case lighting - once they fully understood my concerns about brightness, they quickly contacted me with detailed instructions with photos so I could understand how to safely get the most out of my purchase. I buy a lot of good stuff from Revain but don't write a lot of reviews. However, I rarely have the opportunity to have such a great interaction with a Revain supplier with a product that suits my needs so well. It was so exceptional that I was inspired to share my experience with both the FormulaMod manufacturer/supplier and its 8.8 inch LCD display itself.
