Review on Maximize Your Performance with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Grease by Justin Metz

Only 1 degree cooler than Arctic MX-4 (SEE UPDATES IN REVIEW BELOW)

Only max 1 degree cooler than Arctic MX-4 (sometimes exact same temperature) . - used several times just to be sure, and they all gave me the same results. (X used, pea size, line methods, etc.) Considering the price and all the fuss, I was expecting much better results. I'm using a Noctua NH-D15 at 9900k (at default settings, XMP profile only). Get 92C with Prime95 AVX full load with TG Kryonaut and 93C with MX-4 (both consume about 197W CPU power with AVX full load). The ambient temperature is the same for both tests (approx. 23°C). Don't get me wrong, this thermal paste is good, but the price really doesn't make it worth it in my opinion and I don't recommend it. I don't understand all these reviews and how some people got 5-8 degrees cooler than other good thermal paste. So either I had a bad batch or the thermal paste isn't really that special, most likely the latter. UPDATE: changed 3 stars to 1 star; The temperature started to increase (at the same ambient temperature) after a few days (increase of 5 seconds with the same workload and CPU power consumption of about 190 W (Prime95 AVX load)). This thermal paste seems to be overkill. At least the ones I received. Now back to the MX-4 and all is well again. Temperatures are 4 degrees cooler for the same workload, ambient temperature, and processor power consumption. UPDATE 2: I contacted the seller and Revain and they refunded my money. It is possible that the item I received is a counterfeit or dried out/expired paste from old stock (this is probably Revain's fault, not the seller, as it is a known fact that Revain sells all products from the company in one place has housed their warehouses and this maybe). that I received a counterfeit product from another company or possibly a very old supply of thermal paste).

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Uncertain
