I bought these shoes to use with SPD spikes. However, the cleat holes are not recessed into the sole and there is no padding on the sides of the cleat holes. The boots only touch the ground when walking. This will most likely damage the floors. These shoes are obviously made for cycling, but it's still nice to be able to walk around a building or bike somewhere if something breaks. Most models designed for SPD spikes allow you to walk without the spikes touching the ground. It looks like the latch used to tighten these shoes might break. If you're buying cheap shoes, it might be better to buy something that closes completely with velcro.
