Review on RADEX ONE Outdoor Sensitivity Dosimeter by Pavel Craig

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Looks very functional for the price.

I only recently purchased this and have started measuring my ambient dose and keeping up to date with releases from potential nearby sources during the coronavirus outbreak. I'm far enough from the facilities that tritium release is unlikely, but at this point the level of control from the Environmental Protection Agency is simply impossible. Cool to confirm what kind of setting my area has. I haven't tested it against a known source yet to verify accuracy. The main downside of this product (at the time of writing I haven't researched USB PC operation so my usage is ongoing) is the case. It really should have had a silicone sleeve like the Wii Mote, and instead of a flimsy clip that didn't have enough tension to hold the waistband in place and broke in the first 3 days, they should have included a quality strap to attach it. (it has one of those loop holes built in) so the device can be worn around the neck and positioned at the center of mass where the dosimeter should be. to personally track their doses. For my use and although I haven't checked the accuracy (it matches the background that might be for my location and altitude) I would recommend. It also doesn't cost a tidy sum and doesn't eat up batteries.
