Review on Fortnight Bedding Mattress Durable Folding by Sherri Rivera

First a few details. I'm a 5'10" male, about 195 lbs. I use this mattress direct to a carpeted floor (home renovation, long term project, custom bed frame coming later). I use this mattress every night for sleeping, not as an occasional sleeper/guest bed "I quickly realized that the results would be different with this mattress. I sleep on my stomach. I always have been. When I first slept on this mattress on my stomach, I realized that my torso and legs were comfortably supported but for some reason my waist fell right into the mattress and caused an uncomfortable curvature in my spine After almost four hours of sleep I woke up with significant lower back discomfort, however when I lie on this mattress on my back I will I was perfectly supported. In fact, if I were to sleep on my back, this mattress would be almost perfect. When I saw that trying this mattress Giving ze back would result in a nightmare, I decided to keep using it anyway. It's better than the 2 inch memory foam futon I slept on! After about a week I noticed that the mattress was starting to crack. When I sleep on my stomach, I still have some discomfort in my spine when I wake up, but it's nowhere near as bad as it originally was. I've tried to convince myself to sleep on my back more, but I tend to roll over on my stomach when I sleep. So I can't fault the mattress. It is adequately described as a foam of medium hardness. To get a better quality mattress to support me I'll probably have to go back to a box spring or something. But that will work for now. And if it gets better over time I'll try to update my review so people know. Other Observations: 72 inches long. If you count the extra fabric used to sew the seams, it's approximately 74 inches. But the foam is only 72 inches. The packaging was simple, no papers inside. The bed arrived rolled tightly in plastic and expanded to full size in about 30 minutes. If I just sit down on the mattress, my butt will sink right through. It is, but it has enough resilience that even though my tailbone is touching the ground, most of my weight is balanced so there is no pressure on the tailbone. As I said above, this mattress has a certain amount of memory. I'm sleeping more and more comfortably, but I don't see any signs of it being permanently deformed, and I sit on this mattress in the same spot for several hours every day, not just sleep on it. The fabric around the mattress is soft enough that I can sleep straight on it, but I use a sheet to keep it from getting dirty. Overall I would say the quality is good. The price is worth it. And like I said if I was sleeping on my back instead of my stomach this mattress would be almost perfect.
