Unfortunately I have 2 partial hernias in my back (L3, L4). The combination of age, football and too much exercise put me in a bind when I was middle-aged. I have to be careful when lifting, clearing snow, etc. This brace is perfect for me for several reasons: it provides good support and allows you to move freely; it is well made and should last a long time; it's not anywhere near $100 like many others; It's really easy to adjust (that was a big factor for me) - attach the large Velcro straps and tighten to your desired final tightness with a one-handed adjustment strap that operates a webbing that forms the back of the unit between the supports firmly on both sides of the spine. Worth every penny - should have bought many years ago. Highly recommended.
