GO-TO-STANDARD: Pour Over coffee makers

I love Chemex coffee makers - I've had several over the years and recently returned - not sure why I stopped using them use. I've just bought 6 mugs with handles - a little easier to pour in old age with sore hands. Of course, "cup" means 5 ounces, not 8. I took the collar off my old one and put it on this one because I like the look. This is a little tricky as you have to untie one end of the leather cord and pull it out of the bead so it goes through the handle, thread it back through the bead (the tricky part) and tie it again. But doable. I've never had an issue with excessive breakage - but they're glass, so life happens. According to the instructions, the collar should be removed for washing, but I've never had one. I simply rinse the pot with hot water and a soapy sponge if necessary and let it air dry. Collar and leather strap practically do not get wet. I'm not sure about the dishwasher - I think I'd put it away if I used it. Chemex now sells leather cords in several different colors. I wish they made collars out of different types of wood.
