Installation changes

Chris, from my previous Pro Bike wall mount correspondence: I was concerned that my handlebars were too long for a wall mount. To make sure they fit I tried adding a 2x6 board to my wall shelf and then attached the wall hanger to the board. It worked very well and left plenty of room for the steering wheel. However, another problem I've encountered is trying to attach the hanger to the studs behind the drywall. The distance between the two holes of the wall mount is one and three eighths of an inch (per c/l). Most dowels are only an inch and a half wide. It is impossible to achieve a strong attachment with even a quarter inch overlap. The instructions provide excellent guidance on how to install the hanger on a concrete wall. They also warn that drywall won't hold with a coat hanger. Very right. But even the small width of a typical wall shelf is not enough. I would add instructions to first attach the 2x6 securely to the wall stud and then attach the hanger to this board. It helped me. Another point in favor of the Pro Bike system has to do with the red (or black) crossbar bike posts. If your bike has control cables under the crossbar, the shape of your posts will allow you to place the control cables without squeezing or dislodging them. Great feature! Thanks for your help. I hope my experience will be useful to others. You have a very good product.
