Had to modify to work on our wall

The distance between the top screws is too big for our wall studs. Although the pilot holes came out fine when I tried to drive the screws in, they went straight into the drywall. I ended up installing a 2x6 that ran horizontally through two studs and mounted a post on top of it. Everything is fine now, but to work on a standard wall, it took extra effort and materials. Plus it holds the bike well and I think it was a worthwhile purchase.

Quality product, the best in the sport

A number of nice features: parts that hold the bike up, wide enough for the big frame tubes of modern carbon bikes and soft enough not to be bothered by paint scratches. Adjustable for different frame configurations (e.g. sloping or horizontal top tube). Solid, durable and with an attractive finish, but note (as others have pointed out) that the spacing between the screw holes can be an issue when trying to attach it to a single stud. I attached mine to a 1x6 board spanning two studs so that's…

Installation and mount are of poor quality. mounting is good.

Overall I'm happy with the bike rack itself. I love how the arms move so the bike is right up against the wall. The main problem lay in the installation. The drywall fixings were terrible. They usually have a lip at the very end so they don't go through the drywall. However, all three were loose and the supplied screws for drilling the fasteners were not tightened enough. I had to resort to my own installation tools. Also, I don't think having three screw holes in a row isn't very strong…

Holds e-bikes over 40lbs, great

Purchased to hold e-bikes over 40lbs. Works perfectly on my bike. It is imperative that you use a stud finder (CH Hanson 03040 Magnetic Stud Finder is a cheap $7 solution if you need to find a wall stud) and attach the bracket directly to the stud with 3 long screws. I screwed three 3" bolts directly into the rack to attach the bike holder. I really like the customizations of this bike holder; It's easy to adjust the bracket to your desired distance from the wall as well as the angle of the…

It will not get better!

I have over 6 bike mounts and this is one of my favorites. Adjust the angle of the ears first to ensure your bike sits straight. If it sits straight at the top and bottom, you can mount the anchor plate straight. Second, you have to hit the hairpin, especially if your bike is over 15 pounds. And third, make sure you extend your arm just enough to keep the handlebars straight on the mount. Some other models are shorter and don't reach as far as this one, which is 12.6 inches from the wall. They…

Not very stable for big bikes. Should be suitable for small motorcycles.

My bike weighs about 30 pounds and the small bolts provided by the company do not provide adequate support. I bought 2 structural screws for a few dollars (3 1/2 long, 5/16 diameter). I had to drill bigger holes so the screws would go through the hole. I installed on drywall but used a stud finder to make sure I hit the stud when I drilled the holes. Mark the wall with a pencil and then drill holes slightly smaller than the screws. The belt that keeps the front wheel from turning is a piece of…

Installation changes

Chris, from my previous Pro Bike wall mount correspondence: I was concerned that my handlebars were too long for a wall mount. To make sure they fit I tried adding a 2x6 board to my wall shelf and then attached the wall hanger to the board. It worked very well and left plenty of room for the steering wheel. However, another problem I've encountered is trying to attach the hanger to the studs behind the drywall. The distance between the two holes of the wall mount is one and three eighths of an…

Great system, that's how I installed mine.

Excellent bike storage system, highly recommend. Okay, enough about how awesome it is. As for me, I want to know the tips on how to install it, and you probably do too. As you can see I installed 3 holders. The first step was to find the studs behind the drywall. I used a good quality cleat finder, but to verify exact cleat placement I used a trimming nail and a hammer to find the exact sides of the cleat. I'm glad because some of the stud finders got it wrong for the stud center. You can use…
