strong but not springy

the metal is strong but so malleable that the ring will not return to its normal (closed) state if you try to attach a key to it, for example. The gap opens and stays open easily no matter how careful you are. If you're using them to attach very thin objects (paper or maybe a dog tag) they might work for you, but anything thicker than a dog tag won't work. I'm sure I can find a use for them, but they won't be keys.
