I bake my own homemade bread and like to keep it in the bread bin. It tastes better and I save on plastic, which is always nice! I bought this box because I often don't have enough space for all the bread we need to store and I really like the look of the wooden box with the window. To my surprise, this "very large" box doesn't even fit as many loaves of bread as my one-tier bread box. It's just a little narrower, but small enough that I can't insert loaves sideways at the end of other loaves (the method I use to get 2.5 loaves in my current bread bin) and as you can see in the photo , the top of the box is not high enough to hold a loaf and not wide enough to lay it on its side. So far, these complaints are only a personal problem of adapting to my specific situation, but I am also annoyed by the presence of a gap between the front door and the partition (photo). I haven't taken it apart or tried reinstalling it to see if I can fix it - I'll probably just return it because it doesn't fit what I need - but I'm no newbie at this Furniture assembly and woodworking. and this middle shelf was tricky to install properly because i attached it on both sides in directions first. My final complaint relates solely to Revain. I bought this bread box on Prime Day and I swear it sold for $39.99. I can't prove it and could be wrong, but I was charged $49.99. Anyway I think I'll avoid Prime Day from now on, I end up with stuff I didn't check properly even with a decent discount. Overall I can understand the great reviews, this is a nice strong bread. box, and if it suits your needs and is assembled correctly, you will love it. However, this wasn't for me.
