Review on πŸ“· Tokina AT-X PRO 16-28mm F2.8 FX Lens - Nikon AF Mount: A Wide-Angle Powerhouse for Exceptional Photography by Danielle Davis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

When I gave up the DX and switched to the FX I wanted a new lens that matched the capabilities of the camera, it's a great lens. D810

Very good lens, bought it after reading other reviews. The lens curves outward like a fish eye, but it's not fish eye and gives a nice wide image. The zoom is ideal for adjusting photos in hard-to-reach places. What is the best use of this lens? I'd say indoor shots like buildings or other tight spaces where you don't have control over where you'll be standing, but you want the perfect shot either way. On the FX sensor this lens is designed for, 16mm is very wide, and zooming in to 28 is still fairly wide, but it's enough to tell the difference between a perfect shot and a cropped one. The lens has a very nice lens cap and you will need it. The lens won't let you attach a filter because it looks like a fisheye, even if the picture taken isn't a fisheye picture. That's a great thing, I like it a lot. I will attach two photos, one of the widest and one of the narrowest. Both are taken with a camera flash, so aren't works of art, just to show off the range of the lens.
