I've never used a sewing machine in my life. My mom had one and it was a hard scary thing. This sewing machine is so light I can lift it with one hand. When I unpacked it, I was surprised at how difficult it looked to set up. After sitting down and reading the instruction book and learning all the parts I had no problems. I really overcomplicated it in my head, but once I set it up and started using it, I realized how easy it is. I love that it has different settings to make many different stitches. It also has great light so you can see what you're doing and built-in storage for your supplies. I really like that the threading steps are numbered and have arrows showing where to thread the thread. I can safely say that this is a good product and great for beginners.
