The box weighed 20 lbs so each weighs about 5 lbs. In the box are 4 ratchets and 4 straps. I have absolutely no problem twisting them. They run smoothly and feel very heavy. How big are J hooks? Make a J. inch with your finger from the fingernail to the back of the finger at the knuckle. It's about 1.25 inches from the inside of the hook. The metal measures about 7/16 inch and when folded in half it measures about 7/8 inch. These belts are of excellent quality.
