Purchased for use with a 2017 Intel based MBP. This cable is great for connecting a laptop to a USB-C DP Alternate Mode enabled monitor when the screen is closed (clamshell mode) or if you prefer with the screen open as well. Another reviewer who said this doesn't work shouldn't plug the cable all the way in. BUT: The laptop will not charge with this cable, but I believe this is due to the power delivery at the monitor port itself. Overall, this is a well built and inexpensive cable for its capabilities. This rating will be updated when I solve the loading puzzle or when damage becomes apparent.
