Review on Hailo 4392-801 K30 2 Aluminum Folding Step Stool: Lightweight and Versatile Home Accessory by Christine Allen

We bought this step stool to give access to the top shelves of our kitchen cabinets which top is 8ft off the floor. It seemed perfect for our needs because: 1) the third step was required to reach the top shelves; 2) Wide metal steps fixed when open; 3) The compactness of the stool when open, which fits perfectly anywhere you need it and brings you closer to the closets; 4) The compactness of the folded stool takes up little space; 5) The width fits perfectly in the corner in the hallway just outside our kitchen door. There were other models to choose from, but none met all of these criteria. I was particularly impressed with the advertised weight capacity of 330lb as I'm approaching the 225lb limit of most other step stools we've tested. buy it again for this purpose. However, having seen and used it, as an engineer I can assure you that I have never used this step unless I weigh much more than 225 pounds. THIS CANNOT HAVE A RATED 330 LBS CAPACITY --- PERIOD! In fact, I wouldn't recommend this stool for serious housework unless you're only standing on the first two steps. When used for purposes like ours the stool works great and we would buy it again for this purpose. . But 330 pounds of power is way too high.
