This condenser mic works great with my iPhone XR and sounds fantastic. It's become a staple of my iPhone video work! I shot a short video with the microphone used with the Zhiyun Smooth 4 (accidentally named Smooth 3 in the video) so you can see the quality for yourself. We apologize for the poor visual quality, but that doesn't matter for the mic rating 😉 The mic comes with a large, fluffy windscreen and a more compact foam main windscreen, both of the professional quality you've come to expect from the audio titans of the industry. It also comes with two cables, one for use with smartphones (3.5mm headphone jack) and one for real cameras. To make it work well with the gimbal I needed a thin adapter and a lightning splitter that fits the gimbal and allows me to charge at the same time. (Look for the DDSTech Headphone Adapter for iPhone Splitter 2 in 1 - very affordable and comes with two; you can record with that, rest assured!) It is used in conjunction with the standard Apple Lightning to 3.5mm adapter that comes with the iPhone, like a cable that comes with this microphone, is not specifically designed for Lightning connectors. For noise reduction: While filming a video for my review, I stood under a moderately noisy air conditioning fan and the sound was almost completely canceled out by the microphone. This type of condenser microphone is designed to pick up sound from the object it is aimed at, much like how boom microphones work. This microphone is a must-have for anyone who wants to get the most out of their iPhone when it comes to video recording! Highly recommended!
