Does not work as advertised with RAM products

This item is listed as compatible with RAM products. I bought this item and the RAM item. This item is 40% cheaper than the RAM product, but this product doesn't stick with two RAM levers. The vibration made them slide no matter how tight the arm bindings were. Then I tried the dual RAM ball mount and it didn't slip. I was hoping this item would work as it costs a lot less than the RAM product. RAM balls are made of a rubber material that feels like hard plastic.
