The water pump oil seal failed almost immediately after installing
The water pump shaft seal was defective (or missing) on the new unit when received. Started leaking shortly after installation (within 5 minutes). This is the first time I see such an error. I replaced the unit with a lifetime water pump from a local auto parts store and it worked great. I'm sure it was a simple manufacturing defect and most likely doesn't apply to the entire product line.
