Review on DAOKI Electronic Component Breadboard Raspberry by Richard Dean

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good product with one big flaw

Good Arduino and Raspberry Pi development board in a handy package. Solid construction and they give you a small set of basic components to get you started. A big problem and the reason I deducted a star is that contrary to the description this will NOT work with a Raspberry Pi 4. The RPi fits on the connector, that's true, but where the RPi 3 and previous models had one full-size HDMI connector, the RPi 4 has two micro HDMI connectors. Because of their location and the shape of the compartment, you CANNOT run a cable to either of them without cutting either the compartment or the cable, which I don't want to do. I also deducted another star for other small things that lead to less satisfaction with this product. First, a 40-pin ribbon cable is fine, but it would be better if it was at least a single 40-pin connector at the end that connects to the Raspberry Pi. Sorting each individual cable is a difficult task, but doable. There were supposed to be 8 screws in the box to mount the Arduino and RPi, but there were only 7. Finally, the connector pins on the power module were placed in a piece of foam for protection, but they were still bent. relatively strict when I opened it. I had to straighten them to fit the breadboard. Overall good but not very profitable, at least for my application. If you have an RPi 4, be aware of the fit issues and be prepared for a few inconveniences.
