I used this adapter on a MacBook Pro with a USB Type-C port and it worked perfectly right out of the box. I was able to get full gigabit ethernet speeds and was pleasantly surprised by the link and activity LEDs on the ethernet port side of the adapter. The length of the adapter cable is exactly what I wanted - just long enough to remove from my work surface but not so long that it gets tangled or dangling from the desk I'm working at. The cable also seemed durable enough that I didn't think I had to be overly careful with handling it or worry about it holding up when traveling. I didn't need to install any drivers for this to work on the latest version of OS X, so there shouldn't be any concerns there.
