This is a good set of stones for sharpening wood carving tools. the surface must have the same radius as the tool. This set has multiple grooves with different curved surfaces to suit different tools. When I ordered them I assumed some of the curved shapes wouldn't work, but when I tried these stones all my tools worked perfectly. I can flip stones to sharpen straight knives, I use my regular flat stones for this. Before I got these stones I used silicon carbide sandpaper wrapped around wooden pegs shaped to match my notches. Stones are much nicer and easier to use! Good stones at a good price!
