Bought a float for spearfishing. It was a great addition to our outfit! We do shore diving in the Caribbean, a larger cooler would be nice for large lobsters and clams, but we needed something that could fit in a suitcase. Advantages: 1. Easy to see from a distance.2. Keeps fish and blood out of the water. The blood is washed away, sharks are of little interest.3. Very easy to pull.4. Lionfish, sharp coral and lobster tips will not damage the cool box. Cons: For my purposes, the cons were very minor. 1. When empty, it tends to capsize on a 1-2 foot wave. This may be due to the heavy top cover and possibly too high a tow point on the dive deck. When towing from a small rowboat, a high towing point should be appropriate. With ballast it seemed more stable, inside.2. If the cap is not tightly closed (1/8 turn), it may come loose if used upside down. This was pure user error and only happened once the first time before we had the fish. When the seal got wet it was easier to turn it to the fully locked position.
