Great looking shoes appeared to be well constructed. I think if the tongue hole was longer we could make it work by opening the shoe wider to allow his foot to get in. I had a hard time putting them on our 4 year old and we needed a pair for him to make. independently at school without outside help. This pair just didn't fit. He usually wears a size 10. We ordered a size 11 to give him enough room to grow. We didn't have to buy wide shoes because he was learning to walk. In fact, I was sad to have to send these shoes away. You are so adorable. Not sure if they are widely available but I would buy again if they did. The length was as expected.
