Review on Limited Edition Samson Meteor Mic USB Studio Microphone: Titanium Black/Red - Superior Sound Quality for Professional Recording by Larry Blanco

Background: I shoot videos on YouTube and stream on Twitch using OBS and sometimes direct from PS4. The USB connector on my Blue Yeti came loose and while it still worked I had to plug it in properly or it would shut down on my computer. So instead of dealing with a broken connector, I decided to just buy a new mic. I was looking to get a new Blue Yeti but thought it would be a little cheaper and still offer great quality and mic performance. First let me say that I love how small this mic is. I mean it's really small. My old Yeti was a bit unwieldy because it was big and I often had to clear my desk space to set it up. This Samson microphone is small and takes up almost no space. I think it would be great for a portable microphone. I also like that it comes with a very long cable. Too often you get short cords with electronics, which sucks. I'm using Windows 10 and the microphone worked right out of the box. No trouble. I also turned on my PS4 to see if it would work with it and it WORKS. The microphone quality is slightly better than my Blue Yeti. In my recordings, the Yeti produced a low hum that the Samson doesn't have. The bass is a little more than the Yeti, which is nice. My voice became clearer and more pronounced. So for me this mic is actually better than my old Yeti, which I paid a little over a hundred bucks for. The physical mute switch is a must for me and is nice and clicky on this mic. It also doesn't make a loud noise when you press it. Also, the built-in headphone jack is a must for me so I can hear what I'm saying. So I like that and the volume wheel. I will miss the gain and polarity options on my Blue Yeti, but I haven't used them that much and can control the gain via software. So overall I'm very happy with this mic and would highly recommend it if you're looking for something good and easy to use.
