I took sewing classes in high school and I'm in my 60's now. My sister has since been making big sewing projects on my brother's wearable, which I bought about 12 years ago. Compared to a real seamstress, I'm a down jacket. But I think SM slicing is like riding a bike when you know how. So for me it was very easy. I was looking for a tiny SM for my mother's house, to do quick repairs and maybe hems or small projects and that fits the bill perfectly. Has all the expected SM features and even more accessories than most devices of this size. It took me forever to make up my mind about this, but I'm glad I did. Just minutes after pulling the item out of the box, I fixed my pile of stuff. I even swapped out the spool and filament for the ones that came with the kit, and it was all pretty easy (especially since it comes with the right filaments - so look closely at b4, you're not changing anything!). A straight stitch is fine, but a zigzag stitch is actually pretty impressive. The stock of fabric is tolerable. I do not know, how long it will last. So I got a guarantee (which I almost never do) which definitely drives up the price. Still, it's a lot easier than lugging my brother around and then trying to find room on the table for a standard-sized sewing machine. Finally, although I usually read HUGE guides, I think I just didn't have the patience and gave up on them completely. Proof that this SM is very standard in his work. I'm lucky that I really like it and it seems that it is without flaws. The only thing that worries me is that when you move the stitch selector you can feel it's really hard to turn at times. Given the plastic parts in this machine I think this is one thing that can break over time, especially if you change stitches frequently. If it breaks, you will likely need to be replaced.
