I got my first pair of these headphones after a couple of apples broke (they lasted a good six years so no wonder) and my girlfriend recommended them to me because she has a pair of her own. With them we found that when we tried to get their attention, they couldn't hear, which was both annoying and surprising. After trying them on myself, I understood why. Even with the sound on (still on Apple devices) or completely off with just two clicks, they have an amazing ability to block sound, even the sound of an entire bus lane watching The Incredibles (which when measured is about 120 decibels was sometimes). I would highly recommend them to anyone who is traveling as they are very good for noise canceling while sleeping and the sound quality is on par with Apple headphones but only costs $10. They've lasted me about four months so far, and even if they broke now, I wouldn't regret buying them. In their design, the button in the right thread is NOT a volume button, just a pause button. This isn't a criticism but I'm sure people won't understand and it won't be highlighted in the description (maybe something has changed, don't quote me).
