Great product. Simple design and great price. Worked from a small girls bike to a full size flat ladies bike. I measured the minimum distance between the hooks: 21 inches and a maximum of 29 inches with the tubes fully extended. The maximum distance between hook tips is 25.5 inches. If the distance between the outside of the seatpost and the outer stem is greater than 25.5, you will need to separate the tubes to hook the hooks around the seatpost and stem. See photos and notes. Both rubber ends of the hook are covered with high quality rubber material, which is thick and won't scratch your bike. The design is simple. Basically you have two tubes that slide into each other and a quick release mechanism like those found on a bicycle seat post. Compared to other crossbar replacement parts, this is a good choice. The less expensive "Allen Tension Bar" has an exposed metal end that can scratch your bike, and customer reviews complain about spring tension.
