When I bought my nephew a bigger toaster fryer, his regular extension cord couldn't handle a 1500w toaster. Closed all the time. I saw this surge protector that said it could withstand up to 1850 watts and I bought it for it. He loves to. No more toaster shutdowns. The power supply takes over the power supply without any problems. I bought another one for my family. I have a smaller toaster but it plugs into an extension cord and works great, also you can charge your kindle and phone but I would add them in the toaster after cooking.
