Setting up Zosi C301 wireless battery cameras with a Zosi DVR was a waste of 3 days of my life. I have tested it extensively. There are too many issues here to document them all; but here is the summary. Unless you are familiar with all security camera brands/models/networks, you will have trouble setting this up. Little documentation online and very little included. Perhaps you could do better if you used this as a standalone Wi-Fi camera. Basically, AVSS software for Windows and Mac with DVR is unreliable. After work within 24 hours; it freezes and you can't play and record videos when something happens. If it is in a remote location or you are out of town, you have no option to restart the DVR and try to fix the problem. They also have AVSS web software running an Nginx server on your Windows PC to connect to the NVR. I also had problems with it after a day or two, it seems like the NVR doesn't have enough power and can't get a playable video; or the software is just terrible; or both. There are also applications for the phone; To do this, you need to sign up for Zosi with an email address and accept their terms of service, which basically says they can remove your video for almost any reason (public safety, etc.). This is now common practice with many security camera companies, so I haven't tried any phone apps. And I don't need a PC on the local network, I should be able to fully manage this system; and you can't. The cameras themselves actually worked pretty well; I attribute most of the problems to the software and the DVR. Also, many features won't work as documented if you don't have power for battery-powered cameras; USB to solar socket. save camera battery; You cannot live stream on the monitor connected to the DVR. You can with the software, but it will suck the life of your batteries in 1 day. With the cameras enabled, you can continuously stream video from the NVR monitor or AVSS software when the software/NVR is running. Professional, reliable security systems require monitors, highly reliable software and secure remote access (no proxy by the system manufacturer) to ALL NVR/camera settings. And of course great playback/recording capabilities. The reason you are probably looking for battery/solar powered cameras is that you are in a remote area and cannot walk there every 24 hours to control your NVR. This system shows promise if the NVR were more reliable and all the software was redesigned to actually work reliably.
