According to the product description, there are different power levels from 300W. This would be great for RVs, solar panels, boats, etc. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Like most older burners, it only oscillates when the power is cycled on and off when the 'Low' power setting is selected. My volt meter showed the 300w setting averaged around 300 but more like the 700w on and off. Also, it always starts by setting 1200W, so if you have an inverter or battery pack that can't power your boat, van, etc. at 1200W, you need to turn it off quickly before the automatic inverter turns off . The timer function is also confusing. Press the minus sign to increase hours and the plus sign to increase minutes. It's a little confusing, but it's not too bad, except that the default timer is always set to 30 minutes and I usually only want to set it to 5 or 10 minutes, which means I have to hold the plus sign and wait until it happens 59 and start again from zero to get to 5 or 10. Also, there's usually a big spark when I plug it in, even when it's off, so the internals are probably rough as far as capacitors and regulation go. I just hope it doesn't emit radiation. Despite the disadvantages, it cooks soup and vegetables quickly and efficiently.
