We recently had an incident where our two dogs were digging up the backyard and several of the neighbor's chickens stopped roaming the ground. We were upset: why did this happen? Among the several steps we took was ordering this collar system. We used to have a great sportdog collar but we lost the remote control. They were significantly cheaper and we got one for both dogs. The collars have a good set of tines for different coat types (Golden Retrievers need longer tines than our short hair) and the remote control functions are very easy to understand and use. Although we almost never use shock (vibration and beep are enough), I tested it for 3. I thought it wasn't working...I almost didn't feel it. So I tried it once when I was 6. Definitely works and the settings go up from there. It gives us a lot of confidence – the dogs hear and react to the collars and we didn't have to dig around anymore (although a wire from an electric fence can help here).
