This won't work if your phone has a popsocket, and probably won't if you have a thick case like an otter. When opened to lay the phone horizontally, the top snaps into place and bites into your hand. Why they couldn't do it with a ratchet when the lid lifts up and stays where you leave it is puzzling. This is inconvenient if you frequently need to turn your phone on and off from the base, such as when you work as a grocer. Standing your phone up vertically doesn't really work unless your phone is "naked" or has a very thin body. I also didn't realize that the base needed to be glued inside the car, I figured the underside would be grippy and could be moved between vehicles and the house, but no. The top back click is the biggest problem and why I wouldn't recommend it.
